Living 200 miles away from each other it was a nice treat for the kids being collected from school by Grandad Heney

I loved having a beer or two with my dad.

Dad loved these lunch meetings at the Lighthouse pub

Dad loved anything to do with boats, the water and general marine life.

Dad often went here for a walk and some fish and chips

The Heney boys. Both Liam and myself have a lot to live up to.

I took my dad for a very long walk on this day and he was far from impressed... .

Fantastic to repeat this walk with the kids that I did many times as a child with my dad

Dad really enjoyed learning about the history and culture of all places that he visited.

A very young Charles Heney out and about with his dad who he lost far too young.

Dad tending to the grave of his dad and gran. Dad always made time to visit this grave and those of his beloved sister Pat and partner Norma. Dad took great pride in maintaining these grades and keeping them looking good.

On holiday Norma would chill in the sun while dad went off to explore...

Dad had a real passion for motorbikes but stopped riding these as he got older.

Dad was often told when he was younger that he looked like Phil Collins

Dad always like doing deals and contributed greatly to the local economy wherever he was.

Dad had a very interesting taste in shirts when he was younger

Thoughts

Although yesterday was sad and extremely tough Deacon Paul Walker presided over a lovely and fitting memorial service for my dad. Colin's eulogy was amazing and he was very brave indeed doing this. I hope and pray that dad is now at peace and rest and reunited with Norma. I love you dad and I will never forget you. Ste xx
